At 4:28 of August 17, on the site of Baosteel Zhanjiang Steel Base 1550mm Cold Strip Project, “Zhanjiang Steel 1550mm Cold Strip Project Line-Through” commanded by Mr. Zheng Renhao (Zhanjiang Municipal Party Committee Secretary), the last production line (#2 electrical steel production line) was put into production. This indicates that Zhanjiang lSteel 1550mm Cold Strip Project has realized the full-line production from prickled tandem rolling, continuous annealing, hot galvanizing, to electrical steel.
More than 200 people witnessed this historic moment: Mr. Dai Zhihao( Party Secretary and Board Chairman of Baosteel), Mr. Jiang Jianjun (Deputy Secretary of Zhanjiang Municipal Committee and Mayor of Zhanjiang City), Mr. Tian Shun (General Manager of MCC5 Group Shanghai Corp. Ltd.) and the representatives for design, construction, supervising and production, etc.
The main products of Zhanjiang Steel 1550mm Cold Strip Project are hot-rolled pickled products, steel sheets for electric household appliances, auto sheets and high-grade building material. The annual production capacity of high-quality steel sheets for electric household appliances and auto sheets is 2,550,000t coils, among which, pickled coils are 1,000,000t, ordinary coils are 680,000t, GI hot galvanized coils are 270,000t，and electrical steel coils are 600,000t. It is an important project of Baosteel Zhanjiang Steel.
The main production lines of Zhanjiang Steel 1550mm Cold Strip Project include：one pickling line, one pickled tandem rolling line, one continuous annealing line, one hot galvanizing line, two electrical steel lines, two recoiling lines, and two automatic packing lines, etc. The main lines have been undertaken by Baoye, MCC20 and MCC5 separately.
In this project, MCC5 has undertaken the following lines: two electrical steel lines, two recoiling lines, two automatic packing lines, and one finished products warehouse, among which, #1 & #2 electrical steel lines started hot load test-run 4 months ahead of the contractual schedule.
The full completion of Zhanjiang Steel 1550mm Cold Strip Project indicates that MCC5 has successfully completed 17 electrical steel lines in Baosteel and 33 electrical steel lines in China.
Up to now, MCC5 has completed the following projects in Baosteel Zhanjiang Steel Base: Coking and Gas Refining Project, Chemical Project, Annealing Line and Hot Galvanizing Line of 2030mm Cold Strip Project, Electrical Steel Line of 1550 mm Cold Strip Project.
