Space Framework for Raw Material System
Saudi Yamama Cement Project consists of two 10000t/d clinker production lines，It is the biggest overseas project undertaken by MCC5 Group Shanghai Corp. Ltd.
The whole site steel structure erection work has started. 80% space framework of raw material system has been done; The erection work for corridor- transfer station has started; The erection work for two preheating towers of clinker system has started；The pre-assembly work of cement system has started.
The structural steel work of raw material system mainly includes space framework and corridor- transfer station，among which, the space framework includes 2 arch-shaped space frames and 3 ball-shaped space frames. At present, the erection work of main structure of 2 arch-shaped space frames and 2 ball-shaped space frames has been completed；The remaining one ball-shaped space frame is under assembly and it is predicted to be erected in the mid of September. The erection work of corridor- transfer station has started since the end of August.
The steel structures of clinker system are mainly for the two pre-heating towers. The erection quantity of steel structures is about 8600t. The preheating towers are the most important buildings in the project. Since the lifting erection of first column of # 1 preheating tower on April 14, 2017, after four-month hard-working, this preheating tower has risen up into the sky and the main framework of the fifth-floor platform has been erected. The tower height has reached 104m and it is the highest point in the project. The lifting erection of # 1 preheating tower started on September 7. The two preheating towers are extending up together and this has initiated the climax of steel structure erection.
The erection quantity of steel structures of preheating towers is about 3200t and the space frame erection quantity is about 2400t，and the other steel structure erection quantity is about 450t. The accumulated erection quantity of whole site steel structures has exceeded 6000t. The start of erection work of # 2 preheating tower and corridor- transfer station indicates that the steel structure erection work of this project has entered the construction peak period.
