MCC5 has practiced the national “Belt & Road” initiative and adopted the “Going Abroad” strategy by participating in the construction of countries along the “Belt & Road”. MCC5 has involved in the construction of the following 17 countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Brunei, Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia, India, Bangladesh, Turkey, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Kuwait, Russia, Ukraine, covering 26% of 64 countries along the “Belt & Road”, among which, Saudi YAMAMA Cement Plant Project is the biggest cement project constructed by MCC5 in the world.
Saudi YAMAMA Cement Plant Project is located in Alkar Town 80km in the east of Riyadh. The contract formally took effect on April 26, 2016 and was formally commenced on September 5, 2016. The main construction work is to build 2 new 10,000t/d clinker production lines, including the following main units: Two sets of raw material crushing, preheating tower, rotary kiln and cooler, raw meal silo, clinker silo, electrostatic de-dusting, bag filtration, raw meal mill, cement mill, cement silo, one packing workshop, five fully-enclosed storage yard, etc. MCC5’s scope of work includes: civil work, steel structure fabrication and erection, installation of mechanical & electrical equipment and pipelines, refractory construction, thermal insulation, plant roads and the supporting facilities.
This cement project is a big project with the daily production capacity of 20000t, and it is the biggest cement project in the word at present time. The civil work: concrete quantity reaches 300,000m3; Big quantities of slip formwork for total 14 silos with the total height of 935m, among which, the highest raw meal silo is 92m high and the largest-diameter cement silo is 50 m high. Steel structure fabrication and erection: The total quantity is more than 36000t. The diameter of spherical material yard is 130 m; The belt conveyor gallery is 4.5 km. Equipment installation: The total weight of rotary kiln equipment is 2100t and the total length is 90 m; The steel structure of cement mill is 2000t and the equipment weight of cement mill is 5100t; The steel structure of preheating tower is 4350t and the equipment of preheating tower is 2500t; Electrical work: the cables are 3,000km long and there are totally 25 electrical rooms.
Germany Thyssen Krupp Industrial Solution is the EPC general contractor; Saudi YAMAMA Company (the Owner) hires a Swiss consulting company as an extension of the employer\'s representative, responsible for the project design and construction process quality control; The employees from the Owner, General Contractor, Design Company, Consulting Company, the Construction Contractor and the other companies are from different countries and regions. The nationality of whole workstaff on the site is more than 20, therefore, the mutual communication language, the different regional culture and different lifestyle are related to the smooth execution of the project and it has high requirement for the site whole management.
In this project, MCC5 people carry forward MCC spirit of "No delay day, No slack day". It only takes 10 months to accomplish the following: The steel structure work of two arch-shaped material yards has achieved full closure; Line 1 pre-heating tower and the steel structure work of three spherical material yards and #1 raw meal silo are near to be completed; At the same time, the equipment installation of Line 1 & Line 2 pre-heating towers, rotary kiln, cement mill is in full swing. This indicates that the project has entered the peak erection stage.
In the past more than 20 years, MCC5 has undertaken the following works: building works, metallurgical works, mining works, petroleum and chemical works, power works, port works, municipal works, mechanical and electrical installation works, etc. MCC5 has fulfilled these works in the modes of construction contracting, EPC contracting, supply of complete set of equipment (building products) and has achieved positive economic and social benefits. MCC5’s projects are located in 29 countries in Asia, Europe, Africa, Oceania, North America, and South America.
